Upcoming Greensboro Historic Preservation Commission Meeting

The Greensboro Historic Preservation Commission will hold its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 4 pm. This meeting, held in the Plaza Level Conference Room of the Melvin Municipal Office Building, will address important local issues, including updates relevant to Wafco Mills Condominiums.

Notably, there will be a discussion on the location of trash receptacles for the property, a topic of interest for Wafco Mills residents.

Here’s a quick rundown of the agenda:

  1. Approval of Minutes and Absences: The commission will review and approve the minutes from the August meeting and confirm attendance.

  2. Public Hearing on Certificates of Appropriateness: Two applications will be reviewed:

    • 510 N. Church Street: Sign installation and placement of accessory structures (already completed).

    • 621 Walker Avenue (Wafco Mills Condominiums): Continued discussion on constructing a dumpster enclosure, including the location of trash receptacles.

  3. Updates from the Commission and Planning Department: Commission members and the Planning Department will provide relevant updates.

  4. Public Comment: Audience members can speak during the meeting, but please note that all speakers must be sworn in. Due to the hearing’s quasi-judicial nature, written or emailed comments cannot be accepted.

For more information on the applications, visit the Historic Preservation Commission’s page on Greensboro’s official site.
