Wafco Mills Greenway: Downtown Greenway Update

We’re thrilled to share the latest on the Downtown Greenway project! The April 24th public meeting on new landscaping drew 35 attendees, providing valuable feedback to guide HARP’s summer design work. Construction is progressing steadily: fencing is up along Hillside residents’ backyards, stone bases for asphalt paving are set between Smith to Guilford and Guilford to Friendly Avenue, and concrete pads for site furnishings are poured. Yates is nearly halfway done with storm installation on Spring Garden St., wrapping up the final underground utility upgrades. Work also continues along West Market Street.

Artist Pete Beeman is finalizing the Market + Branch art commission with his engineer, and we’re excited to share the design soon. I’ll be out of the country until May 22nd, so please contact Brian, Jason, or Chelsea (copied on this update) with any concerns. Thank you for your continued support!
